History 904 Wing received its charter at a gala dinner in Ajijic in Mar 2004. Barry Howard, a past National President of AFAC, and a Charter Member of 904 Wing made the presentation. Guest Speakers included the Canadian Defence Attaché in Mexico and the President of the “Asociación de la Escuela Militar de Aviación” (The Mexican Military Aviation Academy Association). 904 Wing began with 32 members and has grown steadily ever since. 904 Wing Relationships 904 Wing has informal or working relationships with the following agencies and organizations: Asociación de la Escuela Militar de Aviación (The Mexican Military Aviation Academy Association). The members of 904 Wing are proud to have a fraternal affiliation with the A.E.M.A. To maintain communication and personal ties, the two organizations issue reciprocal invitations to their Annual Dinners. The Canadian Defence Attaché, Canadian Embassy, Mexico The Office of the Canadian Military Attaché in Mexico City has been very supportive of 904 Wing and it objectives. Two successive incumbents have visited 904 Wing and participated in its activities. The Royal Canadian Legion In 2005, through an arrangement with Dominion Command, Royal Canadian Legion, 904 Wing sponsored a Poppy campaign in Ajijic. About the Air Force Association of Canada The Air Force Association of Canada (AFAC) is the successor to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Association, formed in 1948. The AFAC has about 20,000 Regular and Associate members. Members either belong to one of the 65 Wings in Canada, the United States and Mexico or are “Members-at-Large”. Nationally, the Association is a strong advocate of a professional and well-equipped Air Force for Canada, and is an active advocate of veteran’s rights through membership in the National Council of Veteran Associations.
