Charter Dinner
The Charter Dinner of the 904(Lake Chapala-Mexico) Wing of the Air Force Association of Canada was held on Thursday, March 25th at La Nueva Posada.

The event was a huge success with over 60 people attending. Michael Eager and the staff at La Nueva Posada put together an excellent dinner. Harpist Ignacio Gracia provided background music.

Our own Barrie Howard, a Past President of the Air Force Association of Canada, presented the Charter to President Bill Watt.

The guest speaker for the evening was Lieutenant-Colonel Jean-Marc Dufour, the Canadian Defence Attaché, Mexico who was accompanied by his wife.

Honoured guests included Senor Victor Juarez Rojas, Senor Alejandro Hurtado and Senor Enrique Guerrero Osuma of the Mexican Air Force Association. Senor Victor Juarez Rojas in his gracious remarks extended an invitation to members of the Wing to attend the Annual Meeting of the Mexican Air Force Association in Chiapas in July.

Jeanne Chaussée from the Guadalajara Reporter also attended the dinner as our guest and provided an excellent report in the next edition of the Reporter.

Thanks to President Bill Watt, Vice President Peter DeTracy and the other members of the Executive Committee who planned and organized this first class event.
Editor's Comments
It's the quiet time for the Wing while many of our members have returned to Canada. In addition to the snowbirds several members including Bill Watt, Pete Detracy, Don Slimman and Mario Okunsky are also away on holidays.

As a result this is a very brief Newsletter to keep you posted on future events. We'll get back up to full speed again in the fall edition.

We welcome your suggestions, comments and letters.

Please pass any articles or letters to Bob or Mario.

Outstanding Members
This month it is our pleasure to recognize the superb efforts of Jane and Bill Singlehurst for their outstanding work in support of the Wing.

Thanks to Bill for his excellent photography that provided us with a record of the Charter Dinner.

Thanks to both Jane and Bill for acting as liaison with the Mexican Air Force Association and making all the preparations so that four couples can attend the Mexican Air Force Association Annual Meeting and tour the Chiapas region in mid July.

Annual Meeting
The two main items on the agenda of the Air Force Association meeting held on 16 April where the election of officers and the discussion of the invitation to attend the Mexican Air Force Association annual meeting in Chiapas.

The election of Officers was ably conducted by Jim Wamboldt who served as the Wing Election Scrutineer. He presented a new slate of Officers that was accepted by the members attending the meeting.

Jane Singlehurst proposed combining a tour of the Chiapas region with attendance at the Mexican Air Force Association dinner/ dance to be held in association with their Annual Meeting. Her excellent proposal was well received by the members and four couples decided to take part in the tour and represent our Wing at the Mexican Air Force Association meeting.

Next Issue: The next issue of the Newsletter will be published in September. Any comments and/or letters should be submitted to the editors by 27 August 2004.
