Annual General Meeting

The next important meeting of 904 Wing is the Annual General Meeting where you will receive the reports of the outgoing Executive and elect a new Executive Council for 2010 to 2011.

The AGM will be held at La Nueva Posada on Friday, 9 April at 1600 hrs.

Wing "Best Ball" Golf Tournament

We had a great turnout for the Fourth Annual Wing Best Ball Golf Tournament held at the Chapala Country Club on 26 January. Our thanks to the staff at the Chapala Country Club and to the local businesses that supported our tournament.

Brewery Tour

This distinguished looking group of 904 Wing Members took time out from their
busy schedules to tour a brewery in Guadalajara. Thanks to Mich Moulin who had
the idea and handled all the organization. Those of us who didn't take part
missed an entertaining and educational experience - well at least a fun time.

Annual Dinner Dance

The Annual Dinner Dance was held in La Nueva Posada on 12 March. Although our numbers were down from last year, in part because of conflicting activities, the event was exceedingly enjoyable. As our MC and main organizer, Ron Hudson made a major contribution to our success.

Wing Guests
  • Capitán Piloto Aviador Roman Tellez y Fuentes and his wife Maria de la Luz. Roman is the National President of the Asociación de la Escuela Militar de Aviación (AEMA). This is the second time that the National President has joined us at our Annual Dinner Dance, and to do so, they had to travel here from Mexico City.
  • Capitán Piloto Aviador Regino Esquivel, the President of the Guadalajara Group of the AEMA. Regino came with his wife, Ro.
  • Capitán Piloto Aviador Roberto Montoya, with his wife, Rosy. Roberto is the Past President of the Guadalajara Group, and is also a valued social member of 904 Wing.
  • Capitán Piloto Aviador Amador Cantu Muñoz, past Secretary of the Guadalajara Group, came with his wife, Violeta
  • Unfortunately, Kathryn Aleong, the Canadian Consul in Guadalajara, was unable to attend.
Membership Certificate
  • Wing President Don Slimman presented John Habermeyer with his membership certificate
5-Year Pins
  • Ken Reppen, Bill Smith and Harry Wylie each received recognition of their five years as members of 904 Wing.

Awards

Both Raoul Schreiden and Mich Moulin (who was unable to attend) have given us their unwavering support for several years. Considering that their service was with the Royal Air Force and the Belgian Air Force, it represents a great compliment to 904 Wing. The Executive decided to give each of these gentlemen an award for dedicated service.

It has been the custom to give the immediate Past President a gift. In the case of Ron Hudson, it is doubly merited. Not only did he perform excellent service during his year of office, but he has worked equally hard during this term, and president Don Slimman, is extremely grateful to him for his loyal support and advice.

Concluding Events

Following the end of dinner, Ricardo and Mirage provided music for dancing until 11:00. This proved to be popular, and the floor was fully occupied until the end.
